Third TUT4IND Multiplier Event
31/05/2022
On 17 May 2022, the third multiplier event was held to raise awareness of the TUT4IND project (Transforming Universities into an Inclusive Environment for People with Intellectual Disabilities).
The main objective of the event was to disseminate the activities developed by the project to a target audience, with specific reference to the course, the White Paper (IO1: CURRICULUM) and the virtual environment (IO2: VLE). The presentations underlined the theoretical references and the applications achieved, triggering a fruitful discussion with the audience. The online platform was also shown, highlighting its potential for the training of secondary school and university teachers.
The presentations were followed by a debate involving teachers, doctors, social workers and local administrators, in which issues such as the need to consider students with intellectual disabilities as people and not just as a stereotype because of their diagnosis, and to connect university training with initiatives to promote employability were raised.
It was held at the University of Urbino and was attended by 55 secondary school and university teachers, representatives of health services and local societies.
